A tube well is a type of water well bored into the ground to draw water out. It is generally used for irrigation and construction purposes or simply as a source of water for living in rural areas. A typical tube well installation consists of a long 100-200mm wide stainless steel tube or pipe bored into an underground aquifer. The lower end is fitted with a strainer, and an electric pump at the top lifts water up.
